 So this is not that promising a response curve Neither is the equalisation programmed into the hearing aids I have been issued with. Everything now sounds like a bag of crisps. Allegedly my brain will adjust and the reduction in effort previously wasted trying to hear high frequencies will allow my tinnitus to abate somewhat and thereby stop the tinnitus masking the higher frequencies to such an extent as shown above. We live in hope. Meanwhile I have not noticed any tendency to overcompensate with the eq on sound systems So public health warning, kids turn it down. ------------- DMZ. "The bass was intense. Part of it is age, having been exposed to all sorts of outrageous noise throughout my life I count myself lucky in not having any noticable hearing loss,my parents do though. Also a band friend...the dreaded tinnitus. There is something very magic about loud music (not the type that makes your ears itch inside), its not I think until age comes that you appreciate the finer things in listening, but still enjoy the physical nature of loud music. ------------- Top banana |
