Would not buy... Accuracy 20-20 is only +/-1dB and THD 1% @1KHz. You may get junk with old capacitors and used price/ sold out prices are too high. Stability @ 2R is not known. You may get a new DB HPA2800 or a Pronomic X800 for less money. I personnally would take a Calm D1400 or a DJG DA1400 for nearly half the rpice an double power ... just if you are looking for iron amps.

I was a service engineer @ proel UK, and there were several issues with the PSW range.
The time and effort of repairing said amplifiers outweighed the cost price to be honest.

They have a quirky assembly around the heatsink which is the output devices are assembled to the heatsink by machine and then another assembly is put over them and fixed to the heatsink.

Thus when we get to repair them to say its a pain is an understatement and hugely time consuming.
In the end we ended up just board swapping as it worked out cheaper to buy in the assembly than to repair it.
Spares were not very forthcomingv :(

Performance wise theyre not all that bad its just a case of when they die not if.

Personally i really wouldnt through any money at them.

Proel is an Italian company, isn't it ... anyone tried to fix a Fiat? Wonder if you leave the garage without slitted artery Evil Smile
Tried to get some engineering-data from the new HPD series - no chance, they did not support data. Someone claimed they use digam-power-modules in it what I should take as a q-statement?? No reply about SMPTE, slew rate, THD, transient recovery... By the way - some days ago I saw totally equal ones on a Chinese website ... do not await that these guys are going to cover Proel, necessarily. Make heads or tails of it. They have no dealer left in Germany. These days they make some kind of direct marketing with two people located in the "Ruhrpott".

When I've bench tested them I wasn't impressed by the performance.  Ok but far from great.

I think Mr DWSound's post probably answers the question....

the HD amplifiers from proel ,are indeed powersoft modules, built by sekaku in china.
the alto D series amplifiers are basically the same as the HD - the HD series have a slightly different psu arangement, a nicer chassis/look and selectable HPF/LPF filters on the rear.

dwsound is right! I repaired one myself and I tell you it realy is a pain to remove those heathsinks. And after the service it didn't survive more than 2 months. But performance wasn't sooo bad.
