My pv2600 has an odd problem with its volume. Its fine as long as i dont bang it. When the volume is below about 1/3 i can bang the amp and the volume will jump up to what sounds like about 1/3 volume and stays there for about 3 seconds then drops back down to where i have set to volume to be.
If i set the volume above 1/3 then bang it there is a small crackle but no change in volume. Its very weird, anyone got any ideas? Cheers Tom |

Maybe stop banging it?
Do you mean you set the amp volume knob at 1/3? It´s usually best to leave the amp volume pot at maximum and control the volume from the desk/preamp. In any case, you might have a problem with the pot, a dry solder joint, dodgy capacitor or loose connector. Similar answer for you too, DS. |

Had a PV 2600 W THE SAME prob; cleaning the (rear) vol pots solved that. When u pull it looking for & resolving cold (solder) joints mite help too...
QSC RMX's have cheap pots that give similar issues.... Edited by taurusty - 07 March 2012 at 6:53pm |

You're not hitting it hard enough!
First thing to try is to clean the volume potentiometers, if this doesn't cure or improve it, take it to a reputable repairer - it's probably a very minor fault such as Earplug suggests so shouldn't cost much to fix. Seriously though, now you've identified it as faulty please stop hitting it - you'll only break something else too. |

Keep pushing on, things are gonna get better.
