But did it actually sound good or was it just stupidly bassy?

Re OP's comments on F1, listen to a system with eight 221s a side and tell me that's underwhelming(!)

[QUOTE=SmokeyJoe]WOW...

Does anyone know anything about this system / the crew behind it? I was at Hospitality (Drum & Bass rave) at Leas Cliff Hall in Folkstone on Saturday night and they were using this system.

IT WAS INSANE. I've been to so many raves/parties now and witnessed my fair share of quality sound systems but this one blew everything else I have ever stood in front of miles away, quite literally.

I went to look them up and found their facebook page which contains a lot of praise from people who have witnessed it and DJ's who have played on it. Things like "makes funktion 1 sound like laptop speakers" and "my eyeballs were vibrating"... Shocked

I'm drawing a comparison against Funktion 1 as I believe they are now considered the industry standard for Dance music sound reinforcement and I cannot believe how over-hyped they are. The FK1 Dance Stacks at Digital in Brighton left me with horrible ringing ears for days afterwards (Shogun Audio, also DnB rave) and sounded like it had been pushed way beyond its limit. I remember wishing they would turn it down because at one point I couldn't hear any detail in the tunes, just flat out distortion. I'm sure it was mainly down to the engineer on this occasion, however, I have always been unimpressed with FK1. I've heard loads of FK1 stuff at festivals and raves and to be honest, every FK1 system I have heard, IN MY OPINION, has been underwhelming with little definition in the bass end!

So the RC1 system has smashed it. I don't know who they are but they obviously know what they are doing. I would use terms such as thunderous, bone-shattering, earthquake to describe the sound. Please don't think its just bass power though, the overall sound was beautiful. It just sounded immense and like it was only ticking over all night!

They look like very well made home brew boxes. I'm guessing the subs are twin 18" reflex's, cannot be sure on the tops as they were quite large boxes and all had full frontal grilles. They had 9 Subs each side which would be 32 18" drivers in total. I've never heard a sound so heavy in all my life and I've been to Notting Hill every year since I was 16 years old!

Someone must know more about this!

- Joe.

I know the crew and the system and you are correct it is jaw dropping to say the least,i heard it last year for the first time and knew from that moment that no other system even comes close to the RC1, how they produce so much bass and still have the clarity of a top line hifi is staggering,this system will become the benchmark and all other systems will have to evolve as the bar has been raised a long way.

Mmmm not heard that one before, sort of drop it and run to build up the hype eh?
As they say only time will tell.
No matter what you put into your system if your speakers are shite it'll sound shite! Simple init?

"Seriously this system is the nex big system to come into the underground dance scene.... I liken its ability to Valve. Funktion 1 CRUSHER."

Quite ambitious.
