Golden Palace is the place to settle all these arguments.

Any stack of 4x subs,  which can't handle fairly large venue, with high ceiling, will be exposed in there. Regularly hear 4x 1x18 scoops terrorise that place with depth & SPL.

All it would take is 2x scoop &  2x reflex sounds to happen. Already spoken to Motion 54, and he will put on event if enough interest.

i like this idea, scoop vs reflex 'clash' would be ram depending on what ounds went in Thumbs Up id definatly travel for that

Yes it will very interesting, only problem for Goverment is that we do not recognize different types of bass cabs, for us a bass cab is a bass cab, so kick bass cab is seen by us, as a bass cab Exclamation

Real soundmen will understand this statement, but fake soundmen wouldn't..........

Many thanks Gee136!
We are on the same page!
I make a difference between 'weight' and 'power'.
My absolute model remains the Mighty Stereograph from Brixton with Chabba at the control!

Yes I agree with you Gee, the way some man use box on top of scoop is like another bass box, but what about soundman like me? I use hog scoop for sub and JBL style 15" horn on low mid (90-250hz) with 12" for high mids. Would you say my low mid is a bass box?

this just goes round in circles LOL 90hz is bass, 100hz is bass etc, splitting bass into 2 sections, ie scoops on sub bass, then upper bass/low mid 90 - 200hz means more clarity within each section etc, but nevertheless its still playing some bass, not same frequencies as scoops, and no real pressure compared to subs, but it still is playing some bass frequencies... if 90hz was midrange and not bass all these mt midtops etc would be able to go down to that frequency and play it, but they cant. with regards to how many boxes a sound should carry and rules an regulations not even gona attempt to get into that mess LOL

Yes Kumi HI-FI, I grew up listening to Stereograph Thumbs Up on Brixton/Herne Hill boarders, so regular sessions of them on Railton Road Brixton early 80's we use to take in, them session was boom, infact it was Stereograph & Dread Diamonds that got myself into the soundsystem vibes.........

Today we play our reflex soundsystem 2ways aswel, we've gone back to the original format, (we call it knowledge over enthusiasm LOL) but with a twist, we've opted to use new techonolgy which for us is working extremly well & very very effective...............

I would love to here your system some day, as I know excatly what sound will be produced.

@ Ras i

In a nutshell, yes roots dub sounds that say they use low mids on this & that frequency is bass in my books, nothing more nothing less, we can tart it up & say this & that, but really they use it to top up their bottom end.

We play nuff BIG heavyweight sounds & they're using 4 super dooper scoops 1000watt + drivers & on top of the scoops thay have x4 single 18" bass cabs or x2 18" doubles, & that produce nuff energy, so we (Goverment) decided to increase number of cabs to...................Lets say, to prove that anyone can be heavy with nuff cabs, in our case 9 cabs always will do the job.

this is how i play bass, 21" s and super scoop both running on same signal(no hpf up to about 75) no upper bass, with an eq dip around 90-125hz. some might disagree but i like the sound it makes

when you play your system 2 way, what frequency do you cut your double 18s and bring in the double 15s?
