Was driving around Napa valley on a rare day off from work when we came across a beer festival held on the town square. Was really impressed with their beers, got a load free when they found out we were from the UK as they genuinely wanted our opinion as they had formulated some of the beers on UK recipe’s. One was a dead ringer for "Old Peculiar" Tony Edited by Tony Wilkes - 18 January 2011 at 4:30pm |

One of these ended my Saturday night quite quickly last weekend:
For something brewed a little closer to home, anything from the Marble brewery will do: |

The Delerium range is lovely to me , can't stand most strong ales/beers but I could drink tremens/noel/nocturnum all day (aslong as I could stay standing). European lagers have always been a guilty pleasure , especially the Italian ones . I do drink my fare share of ales too don't worry , I prefer Pale Rider to Easy Rider , and Fursty Ferret is buy on sight. Can't beat a good brandy for warming yourself up though.

tip for exotic beer lovers of north london (or just someone passing through)- jack's off license on stroud green road N4 has the most unbelievable selection of beers, ales and ciders which seems completely out of place in a small unassuming offy. they have drinks you'd never expect to see in this country at all let alone a standard corner shop. it's not unlikely that all the beers on this thread are available there.
