I'll get some pics soon my setup is currently
Samsung Series 6 LED TV Samsung BPD1600 Player WD HDTV Player Yammy Z7 AV Amp 6x Proac Response Speakers + custom stands 1x Proac Response D Centre 2x Proac Hexa Subs 2x Buttkickers Next time I have money burning a hole on my pocket I'll be grabbing some amps so I can biamp everything. The Yammy is capable of processing the lot. But I'll be waiting a long time as that's 14ch of amplification. And then upgrade the TV. To be honest I don't I'm that into it anymore. It already sounds amazing so I'm not wanting anything. It's just more for the visuals of having a rack full of pretty amps. |

haha yeah they are very nice speakers, especially for the price of them. Don't bother with the bronze range of the monitor audios, you might as well go to richer sounds if you want that kind of quality. The RS6's which I've got are a massive step up from them, really great quality hifi sound. I did have the pleasure of listening to the platinum range floor standers from monitor audio, powered by chord mono block amps, now that was something special, but only for millionaires that kind of system |

Looking good Chris, what are they? My latest noise making device is too small to get to mine, but the 2 noise making devices before that are of the age where cones and tweeters are in great danger, so my Mission 753's are hidden away at the moment, replaced by some OHM BootiQues!

They were designed from scratch and existed as MDF prototypes for about 2 years before being finally built out of ply. There's a matching 19" rack with turntable recess on top just to the right out of shot.
10" is a special order Volt BM2500 in 4 Ohm. Midrange is Tang Band Neo 3" soft dome and Tang Band again for the ribbon. The magnet is so strong on the ribbon that if you put a drawing pin on the top of the cab it moves to directly above the tweeter! Crossover points at 400Hz and about 5kHz, biamp with passive mid-high. I keep saying to the wife that when the time comes I can just erect a fence around the speakers but she keeps telling me I need to put grills on them... |

Cheers, I should take some better pictures of them and the rack. PMC, ATC, Quested was definitely the kind of thing I had in mind when I designed them. I stopped short of doing a PMC style transmission line although they look like they could be. They just have a long L-shaped port.
The problem of having very accurate speakers is that you then start finding that things like having a chair on one side of the room and not the other skews the stereo image! Maybe one day I'll have a room I can put them in which will do them justice. |
