Ha! I bought my first proper hi-fi with my second months pay! My first went on a proper guitar! That was 35 years ago and I still have both!

Nothing very exciting I'm afraid! Its an acoustic Yamaha FG335. I didn't get into electrics till much later when I became a bass player. Cost £110 brand new which was a lot to me then but it was probably still a fairly budget guitar at the time.

and yes, I'm very ashamed to admit I purchased hugely overpriced 'HIFI' stands Ouch

But they're purdy and don't resonate when full of B&Q dry sand

The 6'o'clock news has never sounded so good

They are Adam S4A monitors, not sure on the ribbon mid/hi components but I assume they are of their own design. They are quad-amped active boxes, never heard a ribbon speaker before these but it is nothing like any other system I've heard, really smooth, no harshness at all (at least at the levels I've been able to turn them up to in my house..) and if you sit in the middle and close your eyes the stereo imaging is crazy. 101% impressed, I'll be keeping these for a long time.

Pasi has designed a prototype box for a friend of ours that uses a huge ribbon driver, with dual 6" mids/woofer. Sounds bloody lovely.
