Hello, first time posting something of mine here on SP.

These are my dual 18" subs, not my build and don't have the plan but I know most of the stuff that's going on there.
This is basically a little refurb as the owner was going to scrap them.

Horn mouth cutoff freq. is 40Hz
Sensitivity is 106db
They run fine from from 33Hz up to 250Hz, although I keep them crossed under 150Hz to prevent occasional honking.

The ports you see on the sides are reflex (no Censored) fed by the back chamber which is sealed, tuned and phase aligned to match the horn characteristics/settings.

It was added in a second moment, post build, as you can see from the double-thick wall in between the horn and reflex ports (not really the cleanest job but hey, if it works it works).

The wood is not baltic birch, 25mm 13ply poplar was used instead as these were built on an island here in Italy where it's very difficult to get baltic birch shipped to at decent prices.

No, that is not how I stack them, besides the fact I don't stack them at all. The guy had matching double 15"s, 12"s and so on. I'll post a pic of that by the end of the post.

Initially these were loaded with RCF LF18S800, the guy who sent me those was not meant to leave any drivers in there but he somehow managed to forget two of these inside one of the cabs. No wonder why one of these felt heavier when moving them around the first time. LOL
If anyone wonders these weight 125Kg each incl. drivers.

I eventually took them out and I'm keeping them as a spare (if you notice the different and damaged dust cap on the top one it's because a tweeter fell on it and it was restored with the needle trick, the drivers are exactly the same but they come from different batches).

After hearing how the S800s sounded I then had to decide to go with the same drivers or choose something "different" and ended up with these RCF LF18G401 as they costed me just tiny bit more than the new S801s and could pack a little more punch in the lowest freqs.

Had to shape out the mounting holes a bit as the new drivers were a little more than 1mm wider and they just barely fitted into these, did it as I know it's not a good idea to force drivers into the housings. Especially not 18" subs.

The drivers were a little bigger and I was frightened for the whole fitting thing, also excursion could have been a problem but they have not given me any so far. Check the fitting tho... LOL

And here is the one we've completed so far, we have some Warnex textured paint still waiting to be applied (to the other one which is currently sanded from top to bottom) and plans to remove those rack-like angles which look really horrible to me Dead
Photo was taken while testing the amp that's running them, Lab Gruppen FP14000 chinese copy from Sanway. I'm pretty sure some of you know these and I will be able to give you feedback if needed.

Currently planning on buying some tops, I'm looking after the RCF 4PRO 6001-A's but then there would be serious problems of placement as these wouldn't reach the correct height unless hanged from a truss Wacko

So, bit of a big reply. Not sure if I should've posted this here but the whole point of this was to post this one last picture:

He had three times that stack. Smile

Last but not least cheers to all SP members, this community is an awesome inspiration Thumbs Up

PS: Brief video on the cab going can be found here

I'm pretty sure there is a dedicated thread about the Danley showroom. Seen it about two days ago with comments regarding how it was.

How do you find using the USB2 as a kick? How high do you cross them?
