Hello All,

After a few weeks working on various projects since I finished the first pair of 186 horns I built for my son: http://forum.speakerplans.com/newbie-building-186-horns-finished_topic84892.html , this is time to be back in the workshop to start building the tops.

My choice is to build a pair of SMT 212 to fit 2 pairs of 186 horn.

I modified a bit the design to add handles, a curved grid like the one I used for the 186 and D rings, just in case of we need them to flown the tops from trussing.

As drivers, I selected these components:

- 2 Compression P Audio BM-D750 Serie 2 http://www.p-audio.co.uk/pdf/BM-D750.pdf

Once fully finished, the system will look like this:

Here is my cut sheet for 3 square panels of 15mm 11 ply:

4 hours of workshop work Today:

Create template for the grid round section:

Cut the parts:

Prepare holes for D rings:

Use template for the round part:

A first fast cut with jigsaw:

And finished with router:

Holes for D-Rings finished:

A few parts ready for assembly and all the templates in the background:

Next workshop time will be on Friday Smile

Nice work space! Might have to look at making a table like that - is it sacrificial (designed to be cut through)?

Yes, this is a sacrifical design and this is very easy to work on it. You can also screw by the bottom.
