@Adam_Iron_Horse, CPC has always produced great soldering irons but when it comes to reliability, I think hakko and weller are your best bet. You can get a soldering iron for as less as $40 from weller and it'll work for years. I always advise people to spend a little more on soldering irons. If you can get something in $50 that will work for 10 years, I think it's much better than having a $15 soldering iron which might not even last a few months.

Thought id throw this up here, do a house clearence yesterday and picked up this (dont laugh lol), thought to myself its way old fashioned and a bit of a joke.....only by the look of it...Big smile

really suprised tbh it heats up instantly and a good iron tbh..i like it with that trigger too realease it it turns itself off, but intanstly it heats back up again

im using a £10 one of ebay, never had any probs with it n does exactly what i need it to, think its 60/70w Thumbs Up

did but a random temp controlled one first n sent it back next day coz it was crap Ouch
