My local pro audio supplier works on 1.5mm speaker cable up to 600 watts rms( Speakon ) or 400 watts rms for jack-to-jack cables. 600-1,000 watts rms 2.5mm, & over 1,000 watts rms 4.0mm all on Speakon. No figures for 6.0mm. Only a guide, but it is a starting point....

Sounds fairly sensible, it is more or less what I do except I usually never bother with 1.5mm2 CSA

so would i notice any advantage/disadvantage to using 2.5mm 5-10m runs 40-120hz for my bins? 4ohm load and about 1600w ish amp power per run?
and need 6 core [nl8] on the mid tops all 4 ohm loads 110hz [roughly] to 400 ish hz 800 ish watts on the low 3/400hz up to 3khz ish on the upper mids at no more than 400watts per run and the tops im guessing 1.5mm might be ok as its just 50w per run 3khz upwards
im guessing just 2.5mm would be fine on everything assuming my longest run is say 10/15meters?
i used to use 2.5mm on my stasys 3v2 and 6mm klotz [because i got given some by sinfinity] on my stasys 8s running off an infinite 8v2 but i did
sometimes just use 2.5mm on those as well and i dont think i ever realy had any issues.
im guessing by previous comments 2.5mm 8cores on tops and 2.5mm 2/4cores on bass shouldnt be an issue for me? but ofc thicker and shorter the better and all that
