My mate sold me these for 40 quid yesterday -

Going for complete old school setup. Any suggestions on drivers to load these with?

Looking for W bin for kick and a pair of mid/top caps too if anybody has seen anything going!

Don't go for a W-bin for low-mid/upper bass.  Go for JBL flare, or Altec type flare, or a nice simple reflex box.  Have a look at Rens rig in all its lovely Chrome Dome goodness.Big smile

Roy at recones.com/ RMJ loudspeakers can recone these with proper decent parts for not much.

But I'd keep looking on Ebay, 2226's come up all the time!

2226's on ebay at the moment.  been relisted a few times.  even blown ones are worth reconing for the price of the recone kit.  the finest 15" woofer imo.

In spite of the good sound they produce, I don't think the 2226 would be the one. I think they are delicate. The fact that you talk about two blown ones should tell you something. 2226's can survive in the Pro would a lot longer than anywhere else.
Plans? whad'ya mean plans! I thought you said you was a designer.

how about rcf L15p200AK's ? a bit more robust than the 2226, but till very quick and musical. My favourite 15" of all time i think

These mid cabs and don't know about the horn, the whole system will also have the option to be powered by batteries/a bike.

Just a little side project.
