Im not certain, its been many years since I messed about with them.

If Gladdy uses em .... and they're rare/hard to come by - why not offer it to Gladdy ?

His website is

http://www.reggaeunlimited.com

Pretty sure the info@ email address will reach him, otherwise I think you can use gladdy@ his domain.

3808 is a K series driver not a Monitor Gold, has a ceramic magnet and short throat pepperpot hf.
Used in the SRM15X monitor and M1000. £200-250 without crossover.

I found thread on the above forum, the drive look's very similar to yours apart from the underside of the cone. When my brothers Father in law passed away they were having a clearout and his mother in law suggested giving me his old tannoy's. I said Id love them thinking they were gonna be 80's jobbies. When my brother brought em over he told me my sister in law loved these speakers as a child and wanted to keep them but my brother thought they looked old. Me being very honest ( I still kick myself for not just shutting my mouth!!!) upon looking at them reallised they were Chatsworth corner cab's loaded with monitor gold 15"'s . I hooked them up to my valve amp and played my brother a tune and he was blown away. I then showed him on ebay what a single driver goes for. Im still gutted but I couldnt not tell him what they were.
On Jah Shaka's old set he used monitor 15's as tops!!!!!!!

no, HPD's have a rubber surround. Golds had doped linen, silvers and reds were paper edged, but thats going back many many years.

golds and everything before them had alinco magnets, HPD's forward had ceramic.

HPD's also had Alnico mags and use the same hf dias as the Monitor Gold.
They moved to ceramic in the K series.
The 12 inch MG had rubber roll all the other MG's had doped paper.
HPD's and the 3828/28 K series had Tannoplas foam that rots after 10 years or so and girder rienforced cones.
The 3808 had a lighter unreinforced cone with corrugated surround and a higher fs.
