Looks like I'll be back out in the desert next year....let's see if it survived ! The odds are really low as the area is a river bed gravel next to a creek that floods regularly ( I know it's the desert but it rains A LOT ..when it does rain !) . But maybe Earthorn Mkii can be another mission ! .p. |

A little side project has been brewing. An actual 12v one!
I bought a second hand B-52 Matrix 2000 system and have been preparing it to be truly mobile ! Firstly had to undo some heinous bodges. Who fiberglasses screw on 1" drivers onto bolt on horns ...JEEZUS !! Then the bits of plastic jammed in the amps output relay !! That one took me a while to find ! Attacking the 18" sub baffle hole to make it bigger with what could only have been a chainsaw ! So had to use enormous 8mm bolts and t-nuts to get the driver in snug. But after a lick of paint, second-hand JBL 2241 18" driver. Some re-soldering of the amp board and replacing ALOT of missing screws ! It's actually quite a nice little system Add 3 x 160amh Batts , 1 x 600Watt 12v Inverter 2 x 250 watt panels and it's ready to cause trouble ... Runs quite hard while not pulling much from the batts... Job done ! .p. Edited by Phil B - 10 September 2019 at 9:29am |

THings have been quite busy down here..
The biggest change has been swapping out our BSS360's for an XTA DP6i. The BSS's sound great but were not very reliable, also there was a phasing issue somewhere inside one that I never could track down. The XTA sounds great and has all the onboard processing we need. So a few photos.... Firstly a cheeky NYE warehouse party.. was unbelievably busy and crazy ! A friend of ours projection mapped the room which was the icing on the cake. The full system with the keystones was more than enough for the space. Then a little festival out of town near Warnambool..Goomfest # 2 Lovely crowd, very chilled, great bands playing on the porch of a small house . I got the chance to mix all the bands with the XTA as lms and using our extra Unity boxes as delays. Even I was amazed how good the system sounded, loads of complements all day...running fully solar as well. And we have a few more festivals to go yet before Winter ! .p. |
