THE T.AMP TSA 2200 connecting XLR inputs to Jack socket panel

I want to connect the 2 inputs from the amp to 2 1/4" Jack sockets on panel.

-How should I go about doing this?

-Should I be using the Male XLR or Female XLR

-Should the Jack mounts be Mono or stereo

-What about balanced or unbalanced

-XLRs will be wired to the back of the 1/4" jack sockets so I can just plug in my jack from premap to jack panel.

The 2 x 1/4" Jack's will be on a 1U panel

Or Should I just mount Speakons on the panel.

Or is this just another one of my crazy ideas..

Is this Jack panel suitable?

Sorry for so many newbie Qs. I have only been a member for 9 yearsShocked..

Male.

-Should the Jack mounts be Mono or stereo

Stereo, if you're using balanced, Mono if not.

-What about balanced or unbalanced

Does your pre-amp have a balanced out?

Hope that answers some of it!

Thanks Djeddie.

So I guess the female XLR on the amp is for bridging.

The pre-amp is quite old so I guess it is mono ''unbalanced''

Cheers

Thanks D

Input to amp is the female, link out male, although it shouldn´t make much difference - until you try to link to another amp that only has the female in!

Yup, what Earplug said. The pins point in the direction that the signal is going in. So the input to the amp is on the female sockets, therefore there should be a male plug coming from the patch panel.

(this only applies to audio, DMX is backwards :P)

So I would have no make my own lead with male XLR going into the female XLR on the amp then connecting on the back of the jack patch panel then, So then use standard jack to jack cable from pre-amp  to patch panel.

So I guess this is correct then.

Should I just buy Male XLR to 1/4 jack cable and cut of the jack part and connect it to the back of the patch panel or make my own cable.

Thanks mini-mad.

Even if I bought premade XLR to Jack I still have to cut of the jack end and connect to the back of the patch panel.

Cheers
