Its very interesting... I thought the only 'connection' was proximity and staff 'changing teams', the label on the back of that suggests otherwise...

Will have to do a bit of digging, there's bound to be some info somewhere....

Fane was once owned by wolfdale in those days or just before, there engineer at the time Steve Hewlett.
wrote a book of suggested speak enclosures, just like the celestion one of the time.
When wolfdale/Fane was bought by a far east company
"Half-er b" went south to work for "Had-em All" to sell imminent speak's
and Half-er b with his contacts produced a speak book for Had-em All
when i ask Steve H about the 18" scoop "dont worrie its just the fane times 1.2 on all measurement" surprisingly good considering?
this is all along time ago so i can't remember exactly.so this is a story
this is all allegedly and without prejudiced to anyone concerned all are fictional persons and products.

I wonder wheres Steve Hewlett and Clive West all ex fane engineers, are now?

Maybe someone has already asked permission. Personally I wouldnt publish anything from a book online without permission. If the copyright owner of the eminence book wanted to, they could create a fuss if permission hasnt been given.

Although old, the copyright on the books may still be in place, not sure if reproducing without permission would be the done thing.

HOWEVER, with Fane Im sure it wouldnt be a problem, as I would guess the new owners would have inherited all the IP of the old Fane company, and would be more than happy to promote the Fane name - probably as a matter of courtesy would be better to ask before reproducing.

I'll see what I can do.

Both my books came from Maplin, the Fane one in 1983 and the Eminence one in the early nineties.

Historically, people involved with Fane and Eminence have often been the same people. Those designs are all quite old now (possibly still quite good), and were most likely designed by someone who worked for both Fane and Eminence at one time or another.

I seem to recall having the same two books somewhere in my collection, from memory the Fane is the older book? The eminence one was an Adam Hall book I recall? Used to be able to buy it in Maplins years ago.
