Remember those Yamaha cabs well. Will Norton (Big Will) who was mentioned in another post used to use these in the early 80s - I was at a house party where he used 4 of these in the front room. Quite loud!

Re the RCF lenses link posted by Colin,im pretty sure you will need the special eliptical horn flare that goes behind them to get them to work properly.
 
Shocked amaizing!! how do you compare the ASS to the Martin? is there any noticable difference in sound between the two? what drivers do you use?

Forget the RCF lenses on Ebay----They have to be the worst designed thing in the world as they are held together by plastic spacer strips which break very easily and the lens plates are about half the thickness of the JBL version so they bend and rattle together like a tap dancer on a corrugated steel roof every time the drummer hits the kick drum----Not one of RCFs better design moments.

Amazing how many people (like the guy in the ebay ad) think that lenses direct the HF downwards.
It's true, they are there to widen the dispersion angle in both planes but they aren't there to deflect it specifically in that direction.
 
it's all just cardboard and magnets really
