voids impulse-8 'scoops' are v interesting, Anyone compared them subjectively to a known horn or scoop design?  The 10foot horn suggests cancellations at about 105hz but nothing too worrying happening according to their frequency plot, nice.  Maybe loose a db or so sensitivity with no rear chamber, but maybe get that back with lower power compression with the vents so well exposed?

cheers
  Rob.

youl notice that with a scoop, the unloading below horn cutoff is much less severe, although it doesnt flatten out(excursion) at lower frequencies like sealed rear chamber horns do.

I dont think youd notice much power compression wise. The transfer of heat from hot bits to the air is so inefficient, rear chambers dont get THAT hot?/?

Looking at the picture on their website it seems very difficult to get a (double) 10 feet horn in that cabinet. I think it will look more line an EV T18 or something inside.

Best regards,

Walt

maybe the 10foot horn is two 5foot ones , in which case the dropout in the response towards 200hz makes sense, even so, it's got nice low end extention, i wonder how much of the low-end can be used before dynamic compression starts to have its way?
Would be cool to re-design this cab for two (or even 4) ciare 12.00's...

Have been wondering how the hell you'd get 10ft of horn in there for a while now... if it was 10ft long it would only be a few cms wide.... Doesn't seem to make any sense. Maybe its a "virtual" 10ft long horn!
