But in all seriousness, i believe the Powersoft X series are the current benchmark amplifier.

Waiting for the usual "powersoft can't do bass" nonsense

I guess you don't go to many Reggae dances.

Personally, for driving 8x subs, 2X Inf8MK2s or 1x K20 are desired solutions.

MC2 E90 Sounds very nice, but have seen it clip early, even on big power, driving 6x cabs, if hpf below 50hz.

Powersoft X8 is for Goldfinger crews.

EDIT:For others SAE seems good budget option.

Quantify "best"

I'd personally say the Powersoft K20 DSP

Wish I'd heard the prototype Void Infinite 10 though Tongue

Used my K20 DSP last week with 4 x PD1852 subs per side

Ammeter on the distro was barely hitting 14a draw

Whilst sounding clean, precise and heavy

The void infinite 8 possibly has a more desirable tone for certain genres

Heard an FFA 10k and wasn't that impressed, sounded good on kick though

Think the k 20 has it on shear guts, but e90 really does sound nice, seen one running 8 1850 loaded scoops 4 a side and was very impressive with great spl ,Ffa seem gutless and dry sounding , voids really do have the grunt but to me when turn them up seem to suffer with the crown vz disease grunt and raw power but not the most tuneful of amplifiers which is why off loaded mine x series really are next level beasts

For tone, I would say CA18 is reference for getting PDs to sound smooth. But power to weight ratio, bleugghhh!!!

Love this video, I played Reggae GP with
4x 1852 prototypes in my Scoops.

QSC and Powersoft tried.

Agree on the C18. Had 6 of those back in the days. But things have moved on a bit since then.
