The bass cabinets are model BSX 2x18" boxes with VRS800 full range cabinets on top of them.

Any speaker building plans for this anywhere? Also would it be safe to say that Sonic copied this design for their R218? http://www.sonicspeaker.com/r218sub.htm

I am making this inquiry for a friend of mine who heard my sonic outdoors 2 weeks ago and he fell in love with that bass and he loves Martins so it was him who had sent me that pic.

You probably won't find the plans for that sub. It is just a slightly bigger g-sub.

Choose 2 18" drivers, you have the effective internal volume from the datasheet = 376L, choose a tuning frequency to calculate the port and off you go Embarrassed

There's nothing special about the BSX - it's just a competently designed 2x18" vented sub.

It was originally designed to fit the same footprint as the RS1200 one-box system, and fitted with a pair of RCF L18-851 8 ohm drivers (which Martin labeled as L1841). The VRS800 used the 4 ohm version of the same driver (L1840).

Late production had alternative drive units made by Celestion, labelled L1842.

gents, please stop calling every double 18 cab with a middle port a "g-sub".. its just hillarious!
different drivers require different volumes and tunings despite looking the "same" lol

"It is just a slightly bigger g-sub." I just made a reference to the g-sub as it is a pretty well known and available design. Embarrassed
