Hi Fellas
Where is the roots & dub soundclashes? These events for me where way more exciting than what is happening now, sounds just playing together & NOT exciting the people, some of us, "me included" from time to time will pay good money to listen to a clash............ Too many peace & love banners being displayed but the real intention is to "Dun a bwoy" So why not just clash & the public decide who is the King I'm not stirring up anything, I'm just curious as to why we don't see anymore clashes, the last clash I attended was in Walsall with King Earthquake & Govner Turbomatic, the session was very good, well worth my £10 Is it just me or is it the times that we live in In particular views from promoters on this will be much appreciated..... Many thanks Keith |

Plenty Roots & Dub clashes in London.
Word on the street is WSP is unofficial UK Champion dub sound, willing to play anyone. However promoters lock him out of main dub circuit, cause he boys up every sound he plays.
Wouldn't trust public vote in a clash. Been to an event, where public vote decided outcome. All the crowd for the home town sound, voted for them early and left. So even though the out of town crew played better and better tunes towards end of the night, they weren't gonna win. Edited by levyte357- - 16 October 2012 at 12:31pm |

These are all opinion right I'm more thinking inserting the word clash on the flyer, with a bit of banter so the crowd can expect excitement, that's my angle..........
I'll assume there will alot of systems which will stay well away from such events, due to the plan fact that they cannot compete, but I'm talking about the systems which are willing & able, as you mention Levyte, Word Sound & Power should to included in such session, better still WSP should seek like minded individuals & get a session of the ground, "food for thought" I'm making assumptions here now, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of heavyweights systems that will gladly get involved, I see this as a good thing for the roots soundsystem movement Weaker systems need not apply................ I can't say much, as negotiations is still ongoing, if negotiations are successful, "Clash" flyers should "lick" road within 2weeks. I can say it would be a top London machine & a top Birmingham machine, to be held in Birmingham Respect................. |
