vs aka x4 b&c sub 18tbx100 loaded http://speakerplanarchive.com/bcsub18don.php x2 15" mid in http://hornplans.free.fr/planaltec816cp4.png x2 2" driver x2 1" driver vs x2 miniscoop sub 18tbx100 loaded https://www.freespeakerplans.com/plans/14-plans/basscab/30-super-scooper-18q x2 15" mid in http://hornplans.free.fr/planaltec816cp4.png x2 2" driver x2 1" driver The little system is for a crew on youngster thats playing bass music (i hate this word sorry) and hip hop, and they want the mid section in front loaded horns and same for the subs... so no es18bph or usb or things like that...they want a walls of speaker... a little wall lol I guess that the reflex are more clean and fit even the mid bass good...that for hip hop make a lots of sense to me... with the scoop less speakers less cash to spent and some little more bass extension? |

The reflex will usually go lower than most scoops (if in a larger low tuned box) but will require more power. In most cases you need 4 cabs (or more) to get the most out of FLHs.
Why 2" and 1" comps? I would replace the 2" with hornloaded 6" or 8" mids. |

Probably no the best ides to have multiple HF side by side facing forwards, lots of comb filtering.
For 2" maybe take a look at the BMS 1.4" coax drivers, they have the super tweeters built in and with the 18 sound 60 degree wave guides would work well arrayed above the twelves.

this system is build by respecting many many requests... silly requests of course. These request are made just for "artistic" reason...the final user is more interested in how it looks that how will play... but we have to make it sound proper anyway he have an idea in mind and we try to be more close to his idea and rispect the original one... we must change even the reflex hole to match the requests! a lot of the hole for the driver that u see are fake... 2->2" and 2->1" and the rest just for looking.... so we got some chance to having some proper dispersion over mid-high and tops... what im really afraid of are the 15" , but we choose a very "musical" driver so we hope to source out something proper untill 1kHz

it will comb like a motherf*cker, that's for sure. I've witnessed the effect myself. Soundman run two 2" CD horns per side, stacked next to each other with less than 10° of splay. standing in front of the stack you lean a little bit left or right and you get insta phazer FX...... no good, so stacked horns over each other - sounds suddenly like HiFi......

the lucky things is that all is just for looking and just 2 2" and 2 1" are real...so we didn take mid in the same line as mid-hig and tops like hifi suggest, but the 2 big horns are not too close... the result wasnt bad at all just a little sharp around 3-5khz but a little of eq can adjust it... the result was really better than the espected... heavy bass and upper bass...mids present, tops like studio ;) the result is for sure by the high quality of the components and not for the silly project...
