Well i would say you figured wrong. Nicely built Xtros will stomp the H3 in their operating range. Will kick harder for sure.

I agree, while the Xtro offers lots of tweeking options its still really a diy cab, The H3 has had a huge design budget by martin and is one of the sweetest sounding cabinets on the market.

My h3's are one of the best sounding mid-tops iv heard . 

But im sure the xtro's do kick harder , would be surprised if the high section on the xtro's sounded anywhere as nice tho .

But i guess a ab test is the only real way to test this , and i really still like the look of them and will hopefully build some soon :)

expensive experiment.

i have a pair of the 8" drivers and some time will get round to building a pair of the 8" horns to have a play with.

the mid high section on my martin W3s seems pretty similar to the H3 high. haven't brought them out yet though..
