here's some info to make this thread more than two pictures of line array, possibly what could be seen as marketing Wink

M28LA passive modular line array source features 2-way passive (bi-amp) design equipped with 2×8 inch LF speaker in a port assisted horn loaded configuration, allowing increased sensitivity and SPL. The multicell LF horn configuration provides seamless inter-element coupling of the LF driver up to the crossover point.

HF section consists of one 1.75 inch annular diaphragm driver coupled to a proprietary waveguide. The box configuration generates a symmetrical 90 degree horizontal coverage with no apparent lobes in its entire frequency range.

Each of the system elements can be curved up to 16 degrees without breaking the inter-element acoustic coupling.

M28LA line source element is made of premium grade Baltic birch plywood to provide maximum acoustical and mechanical integrity.

The system is designed to provide the specified performance in a group of minimum 4 boxes.

Each element has nominal 16 ohm impedance and the system is driven by a dedicated PKN XE6000 amplifier which provides clean undistorted power with a significant headroom and excellent system protection.

Usable bandwidth (-10db):
90Hz-20KHz (M28LA DSP settings)

Nominal directivity (-6db):
Horizontal: 90 degree symmetrical. Vertical: Deployment dependant.

Maximum system SPL:
147db (M28LA DSP settings) calculated for 4 boxes based on 106db 1W/1m sensitivity per element.

RMS handling capacity:
LF: 600W per element. HF: 80W per element.

Components:
LF: 2×8 inch water resistant. HF: 1×1.75 inch annular diaphragm compression driver

Nominal impedance:
Passive 16ohm

Rigging:
Polyester powder coated steel. Angle increments: 0,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16

Physical:
WxHxD 700x290x500mm, Weight: 32kg
Material:Baltic birch plywood. Connectors: 2x Neutrik Nl4 Speakon
Finish: Black textured water based coating

btw, how is bandwidth useable at -10db? Guessing those 8" drivers don't really go that low, so what would be the actual crossover used on these? Recommended subs for complete rig?

very pro looking indeed though, they look suitably like 'line array' from any manufacturer. Would have to hear if they had any balls before i could credit them, yet to hear a little array with mid suitable for anything above speech Embarrassed - nothing personal!!

Mykey, if i kept the pure trap shape then the front height gets too big anyway, in a slightly curved array the gap is not that big but you do put more sound sources in shorter line.
In a short array you do not have any line array effect anyway.

I dont see anyone bashing Lacoustics for having the same thing on the K1 :-).

Then why call it a line array, if it is intended for ahort arrays, which so not even behave as a line array?
Best regards,
Teun.

Most 'pro' line array specs seem to be provided as -10dB points.

Very, very close component and spec list – not passively crossed internally though, which I would prefer at least as an option!

16 degree vertical dispersion, 8 degree side trap on the boxes. So it is a line array as much as any other 16 degree box. Q1 as an example, or the Flexarray. If you read the spec you will see that the spec is for a system of 4 boxes that we recommend as a minimum hang.
