Slightly off topic but hopefully not too much. As some of you may be aware, I have a website at www.burton-manor.co.uk. This is hosted
by my ISP. Occasionally it exceeds the allocated bandwidth and gets pulled, until
I email promising not to let it happen again (given the nature of the internet
I’m not sure how to ensure that without having no data on the site). Anyway I’m
about to move the domain to another host (already up and running) and have my
two personal domains point at the same
web site. Soooooo. As audio aficionados, I wondered which sections of my
original web site you have found useful or interesting and think are worth
shifting over . Other suggestions regarding articles are welcome, but please
ensure that they conform to the high moral standards and good taste we have
come to expect on this forum. Thank you and goodnight. |

So I’ll copy the picture of the Spectrum across and turn the
lights out as I leave. I thought that the super basic used by the QL was better. |

I'd say keep all of the audio section (of course!). I also found the car suspension section interesting. I must read it all again soon, it's good to see a site covering the thought and design processes, rather than just finished products and prices!

Thanks for the comments. I'm just trying to update the site from joomla 1.5 to 2.5 before spending too much time updating the content.
As always with computers, it is not that straightforward.

+1 with Sam's sentiment, found your site before membering here, and found it very insightful. |

Congratulations getting 1.7 working. I Just spent most of
the day going round in circles. I tried jupgrade. It told me the upgrade was
successful but the site wouldn’t work. I tried both 1.7 and 2.5. I thought it
might have been my template but had the same problems with the default
template. Next came a manual install of 2.5 followed by a load of
messing with my template to get it working but then not being able to get the
menu structure to work. It's not that I don't know how to do it, it just didn't work. I’ve just spent about 3 hours trying Drupal. I’ve got it
working of sorts but there is no basic editor included and I can’t see the
point of content management software if you have to jump through hoops to
manage the content. If I enjoyed writing scripts and spending hours checking
tags I’d go back to using notepad. (the link is unlikely to be up for long as this is experimental. The pic will need updating too, to reflect the hair pulling that is ensuing) |

I ended up installing it manually. And spent a fair time fiddling with the SQL server settings
.Ended up being a combination of the hostings SQL settings and the template plugin (Gantry) causing the entire database to crash for 15 minutes at a time. As VentureSound mentions, it's worth trying the forums - there will be someone who has had the same problem as you! Not to mention the ridiculous version numbering from 1.7 - 2.5 in one fell move.
