Proper nutty! Like it!
One fook of a drum fill? Would say it should "kick" nicely, but how low it actually goes is anybodies guess. Would need to see a measurement before condemning. If you happy with the noise it makes, good luck to you! (Some window draught gasket strip on your curve grill supports, will stop the grill vibrating on them, and bugging you with noise) Wood skills look better than mine, either way. Much wool behind the PD121?

Are they LAB 12? if so thy are not very sensitive, the "larger vented subwoofer" Eminence suggest on the "LAB12 more info" pdf will get you to 30 but doubt 8 would keep up.
Art Welters Dual Lab 12 is louder but not as low. Or horns. |

For that size of venues i would have thought a few double reflex with lab12 should be enough? I remember reading about Art's double lab12 bins. Afaik he modded them to ppsl at some point, but i dont remember the conclusion. Considering your "typing speed" with these tops, you should have a prototype in no time? |

Ah well, not every blh is a scoop, not every "scoop" is a blh (warning:severy heresy and sarcasm ). Afaik the term scoop originates from jbl 4530 and 4520, which were first to have that rounded "slide" section just before the mouth. The nickname has stuck to all copies and clones since.
I'd say that doesnt matter. A blh/scoop is not restricted to the "standard" chamber and throat arrangement (back board &throat at the bottom). In your case, the throat would in theory be between the tip of the "this changes everything" board and the top panel. The volume between that and the driver is the back chamber. There is a long enough "horn path" that seems to expand in the beginning, and is constricted towards the end.
Make a test baffle with 12" cutout for testing. Drill a set of holes according to the 15" mounting pattern -> use the tnuts to attach |

here is my very amateurish trial at a hornresp simulation:
single response: pack of four: please note that I'm a bloody noob with hornresp, and I haven't spent a lot of time refining my modelling techniques. More experienced users might come up with very different figures for a simulation. Because of the c-shape and the numerous folds, it's hard to segment the "horn" (at least for me with my limited knowledge). |
