15mil ply for fane mids?

just wondering anybody had any success using 15mil ply for mids instead of 18mil,

would the fane 12 + 1" horn design work in 15 mil 

what kind of reduction in weight would you expect?

the drivers will be neo versions.

Well, the current version does use 15mm, so you should be fine. At worst you might have to use a bit extra bracing.

Birch ply has a density of roughly 0.7g/cmIIRC, so you can compare the weights for yourself.  Just add up the area of all the panels in the cabinet, multiply by the respective thicknesses then the density and compare the difference. I doubt you'd save more than a kilo, maybe 2 at most.
