which "superbasshorns" do you mean?
if u play techno music a kicky punchy cab would be more pleasure than a deep bass growler...
goa, trance, house, minimal, etc. mostly have no deep bass, 50-80hz is what u expect to hear so a proper kick is a must! 1850s or even stacks of short horns like usb, hd215 or simmilar would do the trick easily and nicely. do u know any venue, dj, sound that uses real sub-cabs for that type of electronic music?
cheers

why do u want to build 2 different rigs?
i would build the 1850s first and see if i am happy with these or not, then decide whether to build more of them or not.
why one 1850rig and one hd215rig?
its much easier to combine both if they were all the same...
8x 1850s a side sound heavy and f..ing loud! -the more the better-

u will need some serious tops that can keep up with that bass-fundament.
theres not too many diy tops that can...

hope u bear these costs in mind when u build 16 1850s!
cheers

Mate, go and have a listen to some different rigs, see what you like and dislike, and base (no pun intended) your choice on what you've found out. Simples
There'll be a time for dips daisy, but this isn't it

i mean this:

-we have 8 1850bins...we play moslty techno ecc..and we chose 1850horns cose we have no space to stack SupBasshorns in van.-Sbh have no phase problems like scoops cose are folded horns and will be "fast"enough.

-1850 bins is one bass cab , Sbh no, but with hd on top...

go listen some of them before you buy anything, because it's look like you don't know exactly what you're looking for... Wink

hd and 1850 cover about the same frequency, make one or the other not both...
if you really want two bass cabinet(sub+kick like hd15) then build some real sub like sbh, labhorn/12PI, wsx, X1...........but same here before you buy anything go and listen to them before.

we have a stack of 4 pd186 folded horns and a stack of V18 1000 folded horns and the 186s sound nicer on the lower frequencies, as matey said more musical... void 1850s and stasys 3 combination never fails to put a smile on my faceLOL
