I know this is a bad combination but now thats what we have. I want to know how to configure this combination and all the advices you can tell me.
4 x 186 (rcf l18 p300 loaded) 8 x es18 (pd186 loaded) Will be better if I use 186's as sub and es18 for kick section? And how much msec have I to delay the es18? |

IMHO.
HPF them all at 45hz.
Run them in two stacks in different places in the room.
Plenty old systems used to mix up the bass.
![]() The fact that you have 8 es18 would be kick overkill.
Set the sysetm up with the ES18 (because you have more) then introduce the 186 'till it sounds good.
Delays can be done by moving cabs about as well ;)
Purists and scientists will disagree with all the above.
Most of all, have fun with it all Edited by The Builder - 04 April 2011 at 9:41am |

Ok, but usually this system runs in outdoors and seems we have some phase problems and cancellations because the distance between two stacks. How much should I separate the stacks?

Just keep playing with delays then.
There probably isnt anybody who has done this and noted the settings.
MAYBE stacking the mouths of the 186's would concentrate the problem and make it easier to adjust.
Plus one on the sell the 186 though

Surely... Run the 186 lower, down to 45ish and up to say 120, then ES18BP from there up to 250...? What have you got for your mid tops? The delay question is a matter of : horn length (m) / 340 (m/sec) = delay (sec) per horn. With this you then delay the sorter of the two horns and mid tops. Edit: +2 on selling the 186's. ES18BP kick arse and weigh half as much! Edited by Wrek0ne - 08 September 2011 at 12:34am |
