i think theres a lot of people who want to know this
This is my best guess
driver parameters on the net
I would say that put vtc as the vol of air in the driver cone area, because it fires directly into the throa, i reckon this is debatable though. ie about
8000cm3
ATC 5cm
rear chamber 40-50L
average cross section 20cm
s1 300
s2 900
s3 1700
s4 4600
if you want to reduce the width by 100mm multiply the above 4 numbers by by 5/6 as the cabinet width is 60cm
If you want to learn hornresp check out the sticky thread at the top of the HD15 forum as there are screenshots of the hd15's input parameters.
Hope this helps
Matt

Forget to put the horn path lengths
double click the L parameters next to the s1,s2 etc to make them say con then enter the following lengths in cm, i modelled it in three sections hence three lengths
30cm
70cm
66cm

Matt,
Thanks for the info. I put the parameters in and I get a plot which looks something like the shape of the one on the plan but at a higher SPL, so I think there's something not right. I'm starting to get the hang of how to use Hornresp now, so if I knew which bit was what when it comes to putting the data into it, I could work out the numbers myself. Can anyone annotate the plan of a horn (eg. the 186 or 1850) showing which parts of the cab correspond with which figures in Hornresp? Cheers, Wrighty |

rog has modelled it in half space ie the top left box you need to keep double clicking until it says 2.0 x Pi
can you post up all the parameters for the pd186, i can't find a couple of them on thier website, i'll then see if i can work out how its been modelled

PD.186 parameters for Hornresp:
Sd = 1150 Cms = 1.88E-04 Mmd = 184.00 Re = 5.50 BL = 22.94 Rms = 4.05 (Hornresp calculates this if you double-click in the box) Le = guessed at about 1.7mH as there's no published figure. My 186 drivers are at home and I'm at work so I can't measure right now unfortunately :( |

red lines are s1, s2,s3, s4 and s5 respectively
blue lines are the horn section lengths
yellow is the throat chamber
This is different from what i posted above, can't work out how to do the screen shots on hornresp?
I still can't get it to look like rog's though.

Use the PrtScr button on your keyboard, which will put a screenshot on the Windows clipboard, which you can paste into your favourite image editor. From there you can crop it and save it as you wish :)
