Not the usual speakerplans theme being hifi, but I'm looking for a 1u hifi amp that I can power my ceiling soeakers in my bathroom.
It's a monitor audio C180-T2 currently running on an old denon amp, but want something rack mountable to go in with my server rack. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks |

Just buy a rack mounting tray for the Denon? Should be less than £20 from Penn Elcom etc

I've already got a rack mount tray that it's on, I was just wondering what other options there are out there for a rack mount hifi amp. Also just to save some space in the rack mainly too

If it's just to run ceiling speakers, personally I'd just buy one of the hundreds of mini Class-D amplifiers from Amazon/Ebay etc.

There is a 1U "Phonic MAR1" amplifier on Ebay for 20 quid, I don't seem to be able to post a link. I'm not familiar with them, so please don't take this as a recommendation on their sonic qualities, but the service manual is available online and they look simple and readily repairable. No fan! |
