its possible, but theres many problems with it.
firstly, the drivers are bloomin expensive (only one i know is the PD124). these weight stupid amount on their own. put these into a horn, and it will be the size of a full height wardrobe, at least 150kg of wood per unit alone! then theres the 'advantages', altho its rumoured you will end up with fuller fatter tone, for the equivilent cab size and driver cost, you can easily have 2-3 18" versions having a larger louder output, better power handling and are easier to move (seperate cabs instead of one mass). so id say, if your a rich c**t installing your private basement club out, then by all means make some to install, otherwise stick with single 18" horns! cheers, Pat |

The larger the Sd of the driver, the shorter you can make the horn path length for an equal cut-off. So it can extend pretty good on a band pass horn. Still it would be big because of the relative low compressionfactor (horn begins already big).

it's possible, but no point to it. if you went that route i hope it's a perma install and not something you will be move 3 times a week...
take the PD2450... huge and is in the TSW 124 i do believe that Mykey posted. i would still go for 4x 18's vs 2x 24's though...

i thought the subject was 24's . Norty 'll smack your botty!
![]() worth checking the beyma 21" out too, for horns. it does need treating though, to stiffen the paper, particularly on the 1st rib out from the centre. Edited by opus jody - 12 April 2007 at 4:44am |
