If you do a picknik field with background music, then 1000 easy :-)

We had a “company” come over from Newport to do a show in our local park for 1500-2000 people with 2 pairs of Peavey HiySis and a pair of active mackie subs.
The result was nothing less than comical. They blew one pair of the hisys. And couldn’t get the main band on stage due to what looked like no one on their crew knowing how to tune some G3 kit. Did feel kind of smug when i bumped in to the client who had previously told me our price was unrealistic :)

Ive been to an event like that....bass drivers were trying to make a break for freedom all the time I was there As for Bishopsound, if it gets people talking (I know Ive previously started a thread about his amps) then its free advertising, win win for him Gave in, clicked on the link... thats roughly what I use for 200 on mobile work lol

Mate modified 18" Hog plans to 21" version. He has done indoor 1K people gigs, with 2x stacks of, 2x 21" Hogs, 1x 2x18 kick cab per side, and 2x P0rn horn tops per side. He does however, use exceedingly efficient drivers. |

I also note from the specs, that they are MDF boxes, that claim to weight 0kg. This is, in my opinion, all horse sh1t. The only positive seems to be its made in the UK, bless them. Typical of what undermines anybody trying to do things properly, and is what has distorted and de-valued the pro PA market. Why would any misinformed event organiser dream of paying £1000's for a provider to do their gig properly when anybody can buy the kit for £1000? Good story on the Hi Sys, delusional planning all round. I'm glad we priced ourselves out of that market years ago.

If the mid-tops were Opus AT2000's and the subs were something like KS28's you might have half a chance...

I know the guy appears to be a twonk, and not all the made in Britain stuff is kosher... but 2x18 subs and a pair of triple 12 tops for £1100? I understand why people would buy that even if its Chinese drivers. It's the list price of a pair of neo 18s from a decent company, let alone the boxes to put them in. If you want to have a party, I imagine they make a fair noise. It's the marketing that puts people's backs up on here and understandably.
Anyone heard this stuff to pass a fair opinion?

Pair of SH96HO and pair of BC415, no problem. But you’re talking £45k list for that with amps and cabling. Not a grand. Edited by toastyghost - 22 November 2018 at 11:19pm |
