I'm after a horn to load a 1" or maybe a 1.4" into but it'll need to go in a MT112 type 12" horn path so I need it to be a maximum of 15cm x 15cm to have as little acoustic effect as possible on the 12".  Does anyone have any suggestions or is 60 degree dispersion just not available for a horn that small?

Thanks

wouldnt do that.. the smaller the horn, the higher the cutoff, the bigger the issue with the 12".. get a nice large 60x40 horn for proper pattern control and low xover.. those pseudo coax arrangements are not an ideal compromise imo..

Thanks for the reply. It's not a standard mt121, there's a 6" horn in it as well so the 1" meeting the 12" isn't really an issue.

make sure the 6 & 1 horns match dispersion wise, at xover

btw: how wide is the box?

The 6 is 75 degree so it's not bang on but near. Usual mt121 width.

Eminence lt250 is another option, perhaps more suitable dispersion

are you looking at replacing the comp?

though without a doubt, best way to spend your money is do away the 6 and put a faital / 18sound 1.4" on either respective tractrix flare in it's place

then find someone to help you align the box (or system) in smaart.

Yes that's right they're Studio45's build.  That Eminence lt250 looks just the ticket but it seems to be pretty hard to come by - I think I'll just rotate the horn I have.

where do you cross the 12"? 600ish hz? if so i wouldnt worry too much about obstructing the horn path of the 12s.. finding a horn that suits the dispersion, as mentioned above, and putting it as close as possible to the 6" is more important imo.. lots of 1" horns available from bluearan or elsewhere, without proper polarplots of the 6" horn its more guesswork than science to match those two :)
