I have a collection of drivers at my disposal and i'm looking at building a largish rig.
What i have is: 2 x PD1850/2 PD's 2 x PD153ER 2 x beyma 18G-400 8 x 2226H JBL I've built a 1850 cab already and was looking to build upto 4 using 2 1850's and another pair of drivers ( i cant afford 2 more 1850's atm) possibly the Beyma's but i'm not sure what that will sound like. I wanted to use maybe 6 2226H's in a HD15 box scenario for the upper end of the bass sat on top of the 1850 cabs, worth it do you think? I have plenty of amp power for it all including processors etc, so it's down to what to build using what i have. I hope to use the whole system for outside/indoor parties, maybe max 300 people. All comments appreciated Cheers |

sell the beyma and PD1850 and buy 4 identical modern 18" for that money.
also, the 1850 is a one way bass solution, so HD15 will not suit them well, they dont play much higher. for 300 pax max, i would build 4 BR mid enclosures for your 15" (100-1000 hz) and cross direclty to a CD horn. |

What is a BR mid enclosure?
1 x 1850 cab has been built, i've cut the timber for 2 more, so that is the avenue i'm looking at going down. However, building different cabs for different set ups is always a concept, so i would be looking at additions to the 1850's which could be used in other areas. These would be suited for the EDM scene whatever the final set up is, so what will be the best to marry up with the 1850's ( hypethetically lets say i get another pair of PD's to make 4 matched )? |

BR is Bass reflex.
I agree, you want 4 matching drivers in the bins. I use Faital Pro W18N8 1000s in my 1850s, as they simmed well and met the driver T/S recomendations pretty well. They sound great. Those drivers are discontinued now but there are other drivers that will work if the cabs are already going. Mismatch them and all kinds of annoying things make the sound guy job harder. A kick band is not necessary for sure. If anything I am always holding the kick back on the 1850s because it has a nice low end that gets smothered in upper bass without some processing.

If you want to get rid of the 2 x Beyma 18G400, i can take a PX on these and sell you some Beyma 18PW1400Fe.
