Does anyone have any info regarding an alternative 15" driver for the X-tro? or a UK supplier for 18Sound? I can't find anywhere in the UK that sells them.

Sorry to answer my own post, but it seems the P.Audio WN15S is a possible option, although I can't find these in the UK either!

How about the P.Audio SN15B? looks a lot cheaper, and more importantly, available.

yes , indeed I've made some plots earlier this year  while searching for an alternative drifer for the Xtro, and WN15S looks like a good candidate

call the distribuitor to find out if he doesn't have the WN15S  even if  it's not listed on the site.

SN15B does not look so great

the grey line is the WN15S
the Black line is the SN15B

Hmmm, the SN15B does not look so good. I've also read the Eminence Kappa Pro may be OK, but from experience, eminence stuff sounds a bit harsh. I think I'll try to find a price for the WN15S.

Do you have a plot as above but including the 18Sound driver?

plot of the 15ND930 18sound Vs. P-audio WN-15S

Grey is 18sound, and black is P-audio

something does not look right......

Walt, if you're reading this, please make a plot of the original plans for the x-tro, or tell me if this is how the 18sound looked in the plots at you too.

18sound is not far from the SN15B plot, something must be amiss there surely?

nexus, what are your input parameters lloking like for that model? i had a go
at modelling the x-tro and am curious how you tackled the front volume.
what also did you do about the whole dual driver, dual horn, single rear
chamber thing? the wn-15s plot looks very good there i must say.

i'll be interested to hear what walt has to say as well. bummer about the
sn15b as it is a good price, i wonder if the mb would be better suited?

james.

The 15N930 has about twice the Xmax, so the plot will look very different at fulll power. In terms of output it could be 6 dB louder.

for the dual driver thing, I've just modelled the sistem in 1pi (for a single driver/single horn)
for the rear chamber, I've modelled one driver with half the rear chamber.
