Hi Ceharden,
12NDL76 has a EBP of 229, Qts of 0.2 and BL of 20.10, it's really a horn driver and would not sound too good in a X12. In fact if you plot this driver with any program (winisd, bassbox, akabak, etc.) you can see the ripple in the low section and that's a sign this is not the right choice.
I already have 12MB700 which are horn drivers and don't sound the best on X12 (they sound quite good but only for disco and btw lack mid-bass/punch, i'm waiting to load them in some fiber mid horn like porn horn, limmer or something similar to unleash their potential).
The only neodymium good choices, apart SN-12MB imho are B&C 12HPL64, 18 Sound 12NMB420 (will go in production late july) and Sica K3. They all four have price differences within 15-20€ so this is not a point to consider in the choice.

Anyway please let me know how C14+XT1464 combo will work :)

I won't deny the fact that the 12NDL76 should really be horn loaded. I have previously tried it in Hornresp, although it doesn't look amazing.  I imagine it would be suitable for something like the folded 12" used in a Funktion 1 box.  I may be wrong but they probably wouldn't be the best choice for a porn horn or similar.

Having played with them in reflex boxes they will work as direct radiating drivers.  Providing you accept that you cannot get much low extension out of them and use a small cab tuned quite high, they are very good from about 120Hz upwards.

I'm still trying to decide how best to use the pair I have.

The C14+XT1464 sounds very good so far, only tested out of a cab as yet.

Hey guys, i've had a look in WinISD but i'm not sure how to work the program properly so i thought i'd just ask... how would the PD122 work in a single 12" version of the x12? If it doesn't work well at all what would be a good 12" & 1" cab for it (pref trap)

Also, if i did make a single version how much would i have to shorten it by?

thanks in advance, Alex

Quick check says PD122 would be suitable for either an X12 or a single 12" mid top.  Check out my new mid-tops if you want some inspiration for your own.  They are here.

And regarding the discussion of the 12NDL76, although it's supposed to be a horn driver I can now confirm it sounds fantastic in small mid-tops.  Not much low extension as you might expect but incredibly tight and fast sound from the strong motor.

We've just built a pair of (as yet unloaded) X12s to spec. We were going to go with the SN 12MBs until seeing your post. Would the PD122s go in as is, or would the volume need to be altered to effectively use these drivers? (physically the PDs are 4mm narrower than the cutout, but I don't think it'll make too much difference).

cheers
