I'm just impressed they managed to get that much solder onto that 'fuse' without completely melting the whole plug!

As for the amp, it looks like the mechanical guys have done their job, well apart from making the case too big!

Maybe too many people are watching the TV programme "The Repair Shop" and thinking that it is easy to fix things with a blow torch and solder---some people should never be allowed to touch anything electrical like the other guy on here currently blowing amps up with his lethal wiring and shorted Speakons.

Most likely economics of scale - cheaper to buy in one size of
case and put every amp into that rather than buy 2, 3, 4 different
sizes of case.

At my independent boading school (long since closed) back in
1962 when we were snowed in for a week) we found snow melted
in a line down the side of the physics hut (yes, it was a large hut)
corresponding to the location of the one of the 2-bar electric
heaters on the wall.

When the inside boards were pulled down it was found that each
2kw heater had been wired with 5-amp twin cable - no earth, and
both had a bolt rather than a plug top fuse.

Power supply for each dorm was a single 3 pin 5-amp socket.

Damn, those were the days.
It's a difficult choice, would you rather have:

A: A vegan son.
B: An OnlyFans daughter

Looks like the chassis has holes for three options: 1, 2 or 3 toroidal transformers. Tongue
Ermm...cough...in other words, throw out its guts and send me the chassis ! Big smile
