I guess it was good value until it died. Surface mount overheated and burned the pcb so now it's scrap.

Crown/Amcron Powerbase 2 from 1987. Basically a striped-down budget version of the Microtec/Macrotec range. Same hardware, same PCBs, even has the same ODEP board as the Microtecs. In good shape this for 35 years old. All original inside.

Wow - that is clean. Where has it been used? Home stereo? They are/were quite popular here as a stereo amp for those that wanted a bit more uuumph than the typical hifi amp. |
