Pinyorouk,well....yeah..i'm going to restore this crap to his full glory,i already removed all the bad parts last night,so far i have: 6 outputs blown,10 are good but cannot use them as they are different types Confused,i have blown 4 of the 8 drivers so i can use  2 and 2 to make one driver ch good but i'm not going to use them as i don't trust them Confused i have blown a dozen of resistors all types and power ratings, rectifier diodes and dozen of zenners as well plus a bag of TO92 transistors, also at least 2 capacitors from 10 in the main supply needs to be replaced as they look odd to me LOL and yeah...should work after this....or...exploding again,at least i'll be there to enjoy the show LOL

You might be able to salvage some of the good output devices and useful bits, so i'm sure it wont be a total loss.

Trust me...i've no ideea why they even try....LOL

Nice little project there which will keep you busy for a few hours

interesting that they fitted some vintage crown transistors in there! Maybe he had less luck with the macrotech and thought he'd make 1 good from 2 bad.

So the Crown and 004 are 140V devices. The 025 has a bigger die, as expected.   Smile

Yes,basically the crown and motorola should be the same, but the one motorola made for crown is way better build and stronger leads.

C Audio RA1001.  Fan seized.  Removed fan, stripped down, lubricate and then fit.  Runs quiet and fine but will need a new fan in the near future as bearing rumbling slightly.  Lateral MOSFET output topology, nice big transformer.  Bass hits hard and tight.  Very smooth midrange treble.  Very good SNR.  Dead silent.
