I'm planning on building a hobby rig this year - i've been lurking here for years on and off and finally making the plunge into building something decent

Starting with 4 scoops & 4 hd15 on the low end

Drivers will be pd.1850 + probably pd.154

Are there any go-to amp setups for the subs above?

It's quite daunting searching multiple brands online with no real experience in working with amps before

I was going to go ahead and buy 2 Proline 3000, but reading loads about clipping and being a noob i'd rather buy decent gear that I can setup properly to run the rig safely

Budget isn't that of a commercial sound system, I reckon about £1000-£2000 on amps?

I would recommend CVR amps. We have the 3302 and it’s just awesome. Cost around £720 inc shipping. The D1504 would power everything you have listed in one amp.
Or go for a void infinite 8 for bass if you want an old heavyweight.

If using pd1850s, would not recommend Standard Super Scooper 18, look for the Mykey 18" Fane design here.

Void 8MK2 might be hard to find/out of your budget,  Crown MA5000VZ or Crest CA18 are go to choices, CVR would be a risk in my books.

Paulus is happy with hIs SAE 1450.

Personally don't rate HD15s, ES18s are far superior, I prefer the Electrikal 636x636 version.

yes mega points for the SAE at 4 ohm ,stamps on the vz5 and ca18 on 13 and 32 amp feed very nice sounding amp . will run 1850s to there limits without clipping( just )  , the ca18 and crown will be full tilt , i have owned all 3 act all 4 also had a void super powerful but i just didn't like the sound of it and again on 13 amp being a class H not to efficient :)

But I'm hearing, you cannot get these new right, and needs to be the "original" version, is that this one !?

The quote on the build is with 4 hogs 😁

Also, is google the best way to find pre owned gear?

This industry is a nightmare to buy anything in!

What kind of money would a infinite 8 be second hand?
