Thinking about upgrading my sisters PC with Asrock motherboard G31M-S LGA775 , and wondered if any has used this budget Mainboard?

Has authentic intel G31 chipset, supporting core 2 duo/quad chips/DDR2, so that makes it worth the money already really.

Give a choice I would aviod Asrock, only because I used to mend PCs for a company that used asrock and they go wrong a lot, I would run with a an MSI G31M3-F iG31 which cost about £1 more and I have never had an MSI board fail on me...

Agreed as well.
Asus gone a little flakey of late, Asrock luck of the draw, MSI/Gigabyte great.
Proper reference Intel board would be my choice though, presuming you don't want to overclock.

+1 for gigabyte

Also have had no issues with Foxconn on their entry level boards have built dozens of systems for workstations with no failures.

Always used branded memory Samsung / Corsair / Kingston

OMG Shocked

+1 with Gigabytes though.

Bought my P35C-S3 mainboard 2 years ago, with intent of dropping in C2D chip, when prices were right.

Finally dropped E6400 in month ago, and overclocked sweet, before I had even upgraded the bios. Embarrassed
