Looks like 12mm strips sandwiched between 2x 3mm.

tony how did you make the curved part?
After the design of the form, the curves were run through grooves, We had curved wood really from day one and you either do it by sliding thinner strips of ply down the grooves or kerfed (saw cut grooves) thicker sheets. If you have the equipment, you can pre-form your panels. With horn flares, you can get away with thinner sections because when you bend the ply, the tension increases and the panels become tighter sending the resonance higher which is what you want to happen.

You have done a wonderful job, sir.. :)

As a matter of interest,  the Fane collosus was the first speaker to go into that cab. I had done the single before the BS1200 existed as part of the Arena System. PD's hadn't been invented yet. John Entwhistles bass rig was also loaded entirely with Fane. Collosus 15's for the BS500's and Studio 12's for the upper cabs. Great speakers.

Tony, how would you say the fane compared to the pd in terms of sound in bs500's?

It was such a long time ago when the changeover happened I wouldn't have a clue. When I saw the the first PD1550 on a Turbosound Stand at an early Plasa show, I knew I had to have them. Certain Fane models were unbeatable at the time especially for the money. Befor the PD's went in, it was JBL. They proved to be too delicate, especially for the Early Rave scene, which was always flat out, the same as today really.
