thanks for the reply! so i am going to replace the main EPROM chip. i have found an equivalent as the original one doesn't exist anymore. ( equivalent chip AM29F040B ) my question is do i need an EPROM burner to program it with the DCX Latest firmware? or can i install the chip in the DCX then connect the ultradrive up to pc and install firmware that way? if i need an EPROM burner can someone recommend me a budget one? most likely i will only use it a handful of times.

thanks again.

Dear msoundsystem,

I would agree with you that the issue may just be related to the main IC for the DCX2496. The best recommendation that we can make would be to have the unit looked over by a  http://www.ebay.com/sch/Consumer-Electronics-/293/i.?_nkw=behringer - BEHRINGER authorized service center. If this is the route you would like to take, then please select your country in the following link from the  http://www.ebay.com/sch/Consumer-Electronics-/293/i.?_nkw=behringer - BEHRINGER website to help you find a  http://www.ebay.com/sch/Consumer-Electronics-/293/i.?_nkw=behringer - BEHRINGER authorized service center that can provide you with further assistance for your DCX:

Dear msoundsystem,

The issue you are describing with your DCX is not one that I specifically have encountered myself with these units. Therefore, the best recommendation that we can make would be to have the unit looked over by a BEHRINGER authorized service center. If this is the route you would like to take, then please select your country in the following link from the BEHRINGER website to help you find a BEHRINGER authorized service center that can provide you with further assistance for your DCX:

Hell yeah...

DCX £220 product with a £20 badge, DBX £10 product with £100s pounds of badge.

The only thing worth a rack space to leave DBX is the 160 comp......

If someone wants a rack mount effects processor then a better choice would be a used TC Electronic M-One XL or Lexicon MPX-1 or something.

I won't ever buy anything from Behringer again.

Not been a great fan of Uli's business practices but in the end I sold my driverack to by a dcx, knock the spots off th dbx, quite liking the x32 as well, each to their own I guess.
