But some of us don't have old hardware and have to use USB.....

If it sounds like a gorilla is trying to escape, turn it down.

You can get a serial card for under a 10. Or I got a p4 desktop on free cycle the other year just for updating a few old omnidrives via serial.

Il just buy a serial card as It can be handy for other things. Will get a card and update the dcx with the firmware, if it doesn't work or cure the fault I will swap the Eprom chip and try again. Will post update when tested. Many thanks!

thanks again.

Dear msoundsystem,

You're very welcome for the reply. Typically, our in house repair technicians will use an EPROM burner. However, we do not have a specific recommendation for a burner to use.

Hello

I have a Behringer DCX2496 that I bought second hand, when I power it up after not using it for a while the LCD dsplay flashes for 1 to 3 minutes then it is ok and it works fine.

Is it faulty?
Is it going to die soon?

Thanks

Dear Explicit 2,

Thanks for reaching out to us. The issue you are describing with your DCX2496 is definitely not an issue that we typically see with these units, and it could point towards a fault with the unit that may cause damage to the unit over time. Therefore, we would highly recommend having the unit looked over by a BEHRINGER authorized service center. For reference, the list of BEHRINGER authorized service centers can be accessed by selecting your country in the following link from the BEHRINGER website:

http://www.music-group.com/brand/behringer/store-finder?type=POS

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions.

Let’s keep in touch,

After 5 years my dcx failed mid gig, twice!
It just stopped sending signal to amps, completely reseting routing and settings . took me 20 long minutes to figure and set it all up again. Embarrassing to say the least never had this happen

OK I’ve just got round to upgrading my ultra drive so thought I’d post on the poll that I’ve experienced no issues, I bought it second hand in 2009 and it hasn’t skipped a beat. The date code on the device is March 2006 so it hasn’t done bad at all :-)

just noticed noise on one output channel of an ultradrive. guess it's the fryin eggs that everyone complains about. unplugged and reconnected the three ribbon connectors and noise gone. first time I've had a problem with any of five ultradrives I've had. it says made in 2008.

I had one do that, re plugged and it worked for a while then ended up soldering the ribbon to the pins, been good for nigh on 10 years since.
