Interesting I've never tried any bms cone drivers, but lots of comps.
For bassreflex I mostly used older drivers so far, like 18p300 / 18lw1400, the last is better. Heard good about b&c & fane xs too.

Whats the main difference you needed?
How many top of the range drivers have you compared?

Kyle, have you compared your stasys Xv2 against SB28s or PW418s by any chance?

Alex, i used a custom version of 18NLW9600 which became the today's 9601 :-).
I compared the 18N850, 18SW115, Oberton 18NXB1600 and Faital 18XL1600. 18Sound won.

Looks good for horn too

But why is it THAT expensive, because of neo-tech?

Rcf lf18x451 is almost half the price
It moves the same air & takes the same power, lower resonance and higher sensivity is the main difference, should play louder at a lower cost according to specs, but you never know.

Sorry but overall RCF quality built and technology is on a completely lower level.
You are comparing 15kg ferrite magnet driver with a 12kg neo driver. See where the difference is huge?
Also the cone on the 9601 is a pure art.
4.5 icnh VC vs 5.3inch VC. And so on.

Know what you mean, remember from L18P300 vs 18LW1400 in the past:-)
I'd love to try some of these drivers!

Very satisfied with LF18X451, we had neighbor complaints yesterday xmax-testing two scoops, one was wearing earplugs to sleep in another building 100+ meter away

NICE:)
That cone looks brutal with all the bumbs in it, I every so often wondered why?
Can't they make it straight:)
Probably not that easy when it's "molded" and the surface dries out of control

It could be to stiffen or kind of brace the cone, but then a star pattern would be  better i guess.

still slightly disappointed they do not use a true seperated double spider like PD on the NLW.
Best regards,
Teun.

You could look at the Peavey Lomax 18. it goes to 500HZ is about the third the price and is more sensitive I think from memory. it kicks well too, has only one spider so that probably explains the increased HZ, AROUND 12lbs heavier than a neo but has a kevlar impregnated cone. I suppose Peavey have produced a very stiff and strong cone that only requires one spider which is good as you get the extra sensitivity and response.
