Had an issue with one of my 2x8's at a party last weekend...
There was little, or no hf coming out of it at the start of the gig, but it was back to 'normal' by the end of the gig. Now, this was last used outdoors until there was a sudden cloudburst. Luckily the speaker was  under a gazebo on a tripod stand at the time, but near the deluge, so it did get a bit wet as the wind was blowing the rain in . I thought it was probably a partly corroded speakon connector, so have given it the Deoxit D5 treatment, to see if that makes a difference. Testing it all again tomorrow, but I may have to look inside and take the three drivers out , to check for corrosion . Not done this before on these speakers, which need to be re-sealed/air-tight on the front baffle to sound sweet. How do you re-seal the drivers so that they are air-tight ?

Cheers

Lots of ways you could do it. Thin strip of rubber sheet would be one, or run a line of gummy glue stuff (technical term) that never sets solid around the cutout is another.

One way I've been thinking of recently that would give a fantastic seal but might need reapplication if you ever took the driver off, would be to run a line of hard setting resin around the cutout and wait for it to almost set, then attach the driver while it's still in a tacky, semi-flexible state (maybe with a strip of greaseproof paper or similar around the flange to protect the basket)

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking along the lines of a thin strip of foam rubber, but that probably would not seal it completely. It would have to be something that was easily releasable/re-useable, for maintenence purposes, though. Any form of glue would seem to be a permanent solution, but impractical should the drivers need to be removed/replaced at some point in the future. Emoticons

Weather Stripping. Closed cell foam with adhesive backing. Compresses down easily.

Glue isn't necessarily permanent. I'm thinking of that gummy stuff they use to stick gift cards inside birthday cards etc. Designed to stick but designed to be removed as well.

No not blu-tak. It's much more like actual glue.

Kinda does what it says on the tin.
