Hello,
I'm looking to buy plywood for building 6 MTH4654 Sub (http://hornplans.free.fr/mth4654.html). I can get this 100% birch 13 lam 18mm plywood for a good price but it has voids. Edge looks good. Is this suitable to build cabs ? Voids free birch ply is twice the price of this one.... Thanks |

Voids should be no big problem besides from aesthetics. If you have a big void in the "endgrain" of the ply, then you can just take one lamination of an offcut and jam it in there with a good amount of woodglue. After that dried you can just break off the excess and sand it flush ;)

That'll be absolutely fine for speaker cabs if you're painting. If you wanted to make furniture and stain/varnish you might potentially want a higher grade but strength-wise it'll be fine.
