Wink

too true marjan..
same goes for many other products that can be had much cheaper than normally from people on here, not the only reason to be here but a nice addition to the discussions about amps, drivers, cabs etc., once you have decided what products to go for you get lots off support from members helping you out yet still making a little profit to keep alive..
you know we all looking to get a good deal dont we ;)

yes ben might have been too busy spreading words over here recently but same goes for many others on here imo.
this forum has lost its real diy roots long long ago tbh., like it or not, anyways..

There is a very delicate balance that needs to be kept, admittedly not easy, whereby you can discuss things on here but at the same time trying not to be too blatant about just trying to sell stuff.

I've found it difficult myself, as there have often been instances where I want to respond to messages and comments in a way that would potentially be seen as 'commercial' - so I avoid posting the comment altogether. If I do feel I can help the person, I will send them a PM, thereby keeping it out of the general forum.

If people fail to observe a little 'etiquette' about this sort of thing, the forum could rapidly degenerate into a bunfight where everyone is just peddling their wares and trying to be cheaper than the next guy. Im sure nobody wants that...

I try to keep any comments I make about products as relevant as possible to a question that has been asked, and *try* to keep my comments about the products, whether it is good or not, whether I have stock, etc. I specifically avoid quoting prices, or making general 'buy from me' comments, as that is not in the spirit of the forum

I didn't take it personally, I'm just saying that people need to try to be delicate about the commercial side of things, it's very easy to unintentionally come across the wrong way.

I could spent every night on here telling people about the latest new product we have in, but I dont, as it's not the right thing to do. However, if someone comments on something that I supply/stock, and has a question about suitability, etc - I will give any information I can.

I might also afterwards send them a PM....

Please guys, dont jump to stupid conclusions. There is a demand for the BMS, people were PM me all the time about supplying them, so i did that and helped a few members. Tony is gone and Ben was already in the business with him long before the sad thing happened.
So whats the problem here then? No one seems to be complaining when Tony was dealing both SAE and BMS. As i have heard Ben have kept same prices for the SAE and DB Mark (i guess its the same plan with the BMS) so prices are fair.

This sort of sale is going on here from the very beginning. Someone sells something all the time. Where would people buy the stuff if not from some members? From the retailers at full MSRP? I dont think anyone would benefit from that.

You're totally right..

I think its just a case of being 'subtle' and then everyone is happy.

People have forgotten about the Pro Audio Parts it seems. They made this forum. I mean the owner, better known as Rog :-)

Yeah and they separated the forum from PAP because it was clearly a conflict of interest.

Its pretty simple, if you want to sell stuff on the forum dont do it in public view. Dont post price lists up and dont be a dick about it, keep it to PM's.

This is not aimed at anyone specifically but if you want to sell stuff all you need is a webpage with a list of what you can supply and guide prices. If your a proper authorised dealer then you should be able to do this, if your not then you probably shouldn't be selling stuff on. People can then link to your webpage rather than suggesting individual usernames as people to contact.

Its really not that hard is it.

I guess 75% of forum members better stop posting any thing, after all 75% of us are not diy users. and at what point was I doing something wrong, I simply replied to a question.....

In fact ive lost count how many times ive said pm me, or email me, or contact me direct via my website, or my facebook page....

At the time of posting on hear, I was not in a position to stock bms products... well things change and change fast....

Looking back, I think the comment that might be the issue is this one:

looking at ginge's comment, you start out by saying you're only doing this to help Tony's family, and then the thread gets redirected a little.

It's a very tough call with things like this, and this subject has been brought up time and time again on the forum, it really is just a case of being as subtle as possible.

too many people on hear comment with hidden motives, ive seen people slate a product only to announce a week later, they have a new product better than the rest.
or what do you think of this brand... when in fact there selling that brands products.

I have never hidden the fact I promote sae, dbmark, pd, fane, and now due to a change bms.
As for promoting my stuff, you will be hard pressed to find a post ive started to advertise sell any products. But have all ways said im happy to reply to any questions, in private or public.

I even don't post or very rarely post any pictures of cabs I build why... I wonder....
